Well I fell like this is the time of the year when most people are stuck on what to do next for their concentration Could be wrong but let's hope not... Anyway about my concentration I think I'm on a good pathway. I know where I want to go next which will just to be following my last four or five pieces because LATELY, I've been zooming up more on the photographs I've taken and painting pictures so close-up that it it sorta a struggle to figure out what it is? I'm just trying to have them abstracty.
Oh yes, and my concentration is close up images of the exterior of cars (pre-1990's), focusing on the older aspects of them, rather than the new.
So basically, I can say that I'm on good track with my concentration, my only problem is that I'm running out of pictures to use but a quick photographing spree would solve that. I just got to find old cars... hmm, whatever I'll be fine.
Oh and all my artwork is in the art room, so here's a picture of my piece from a month ago, and yes thanks to Andrea and Kelsey, I'm aware that I forgot to finish a spoke in the top right corner.

I like that you are trying to abstract your pictures now but it also makes me sad because you did such a good job with the first ones of painting really realistic-looking cars like the one with the rust which is my favorite! Maybe you can combine your clean lines and realistic painting with your abstractions somehow but I'm sure it will look good either way!
ReplyDeleteWith all your pieces I really enjoy the color palette you use but I think you should try to bring back some of the stuff you were doing in the beginning of the year (with the rust and orange/red colors) to show connection between more pieces so not just one piece is like that. One of my favorite pieces you have done this year is the one zoomed in on the front of the car (I think with part of a wing or something?) that was from this month - it had great texture and value and I thought it was really successful!
ReplyDeleteSophie, Hi. I really feel you have improved this year, but as Tori and Ranya said I really like the rusty one because it's different than all of your others. Maybe you could try the inside of cars? There might be more possibilities of warmer colors, and it would give you a different sort of piece. Just a thought! :)))) -bye.
